China’s cultural past has been marked for millennia by influential dynasties whose material legacies – long after their hegemony and claim to power – are presented to the public in museums and archaeological sites. With the installation “dig site”, I’m anticipating the physical traces of a future past. Which material “dynasties” are currently in power? Which substances will be found, which leftovers, what conclusions will be drawn?
